NPWH Provides Feedback to the AMA on its Scope of Practice Data Series
The NPWH and a number of other organizations have responded to the American Medical Association’s request for feedback about the Nurse Practitioners module of the AMA Scope of Practice Data Series by stating they “do not accept” the AMA’s attempt to change the perceptions of NP practice as anything other than fully qualified professionals working within a legally established scope of practice. Their response points to a multitude of studies demonstrating the safety and high quality of care provided by nurse practitioners which were disregarded in the module.NPWH: Change in Mammography Guidelines Draws Fire
The National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH) has posted links to responses by the American Cancer Society (ACS), the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and the American College of Radiology (ACR) to the change in mammography guidelines suggested by the US Preventive Services Task Force.
